Who this is between

These terms govern the use of the chalkdraw application for macOS, developed and published by Geovani Amaral ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the app.

What the app does

chalkdraw is a whiteboard for drawing diagrams, sketches and notes with a hand-drawn look. Your whiteboards are stored in the cloud and kept in step across the Macs you sign in on. The app opens and saves whiteboard files (.cd and .excalidraw), draws diagrams from Mermaid and JSON, and exports PNG, SVG and PDF.

Your account

On first launch the app makes a guest account so your work is in the cloud from the start; that account is tied to the Mac. Signing in with Apple turns it into an account of your own, reachable from every Mac you sign in on. You are responsible for keeping access to your Apple Account and for what is stored under your chalkdraw account. Use is personal or for your organisation's internal work. The app is not intended for children under 13.

Free and chalkdraw+

The free plan keeps one whiteboard, with every tool, every template and every export. chalkdraw+ removes the limit on whiteboards and adds sharing by link and comments. It is sold through the App Store as:

• a monthly auto-renewing subscription ($2.99 per month);
• a yearly auto-renewing subscription ($19.99 per year);
• a one-time Lifetime purchase ($29.99), which never renews.

Prices are shown in the App Store in your currency and may differ from the figures above. For subscriptions:

• Payment is charged to your App Store account when you confirm the purchase.
• The subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Renewal is charged within the 24 hours before the period ends.
• You manage and cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings (System Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions on the Mac). Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• Payments and refunds are processed by Apple and follow Apple's policies.

chalkdraw+ may also be granted to an account directly by us — for testing, support or promotions — in which case these terms apply the same way.

Your content

The whiteboards, images and comments you create remain yours. You grant us only the licence needed to store, display, synchronise and share that content as you direct — with the people you invite by link, for example. We do not use your content for advertising, and we do not use it to train models.

Sharing

Sharing a whiteboard by link lets anyone who holds the link join it, as an editor or a viewer, as you choose. You are responsible for whom you give a link to. You can stop sharing at any time; people who already joined stay until you remove them. Content shared with you by others belongs to them; treat it accordingly.

Acceptable use

When using chalkdraw you agree not to:

• upload or share content that is unlawful, abusive, or that you have no right to share;
• try to get around the limits of the free plan, overload the service, or access it other than through the app;
• reverse-engineer, decompile or redistribute the app;
• use the service to harm other people or their work.

Availability and changes

The app is provided "as is". Features may change, be added or removed, and the service may be unavailable for maintenance, because of third-party failures, or if we stop operating it. We will announce in the app any change that materially affects an active subscription. You can export your whiteboards at any time as .excalidraw, PNG, SVG or PDF.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages, loss of data, or decisions made on the basis of what is drawn in the app. Nothing in these terms removes the rights consumer law guarantees you — including, in Brazil, the Consumer Defence Code.

Ending your account

You can delete your account and its data from the app (the account panel, top right), or by writing to us at the address below. We may suspend accounts that break these terms, with notice when possible.

About Apple

This agreement is between you and Geovani Amaral, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content and has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. Questions, problems and complaints about the app go to the contact below.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms. The date at the top shows the last revision, and material changes will be announced in the app. Continuing to use chalkdraw after a change means you accept it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Brazil. Disputes are settled in the courts of the consumer's domicile, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections where you live.
