Privacy Policy

In short: chalkdraw keeps your whiteboards in the cloud so they follow you across devices. To do that it stores your account details and what you draw, on Google's Firebase servers, and nothing else. There are no ads, no analytics, no tracking, and we never sell data.
See also the Terms of Use.
Who we are
chalkdraw is developed and published by Geovani Amaral, based in Brazil, who is the controller of the personal data described here. Contact: hello@chalkdraw.io.
What we collect, and why
The app collects only what it needs to work:
- Account identifier. A random user ID is created on first launch (a guest account) so your work can be stored in the cloud straight away. It is linked to what you draw.
- Name and email address. When you sign in with Apple, we receive the name and email you choose to share (Apple lets you hide your email behind a relay address). The name is shown to people you share whiteboards with and next to your comments; the email is used to identify your account.
- Your content. The whiteboards you draw, the images you insert, folder names, favorites, comments and the people you share with. This is the point of the app, and it is stored so it can be synchronised and shared as you direct.
- Plan. Whether your account has chalkdraw+, so the app knows what to unlock.
All of this is used for one purpose: running the app for you. It is not used for advertising, profiling or tracking, and it is never sold.
What we don't collect
- No analytics or usage statistics.
- No advertising identifiers, and no tracking across apps or websites.
- No location, contacts, photos other than the ones you insert into a whiteboard, or anything else from your device.
- No payment details. Purchases of chalkdraw+ are made through the App Store; Apple processes the payment and does not share your card details with us. The app only learns whether chalkdraw+ is owned.
Who we share data with
- Google Firebase (Google LLC) hosts the account system, the database and the file storage the app uses. Google processes the data on our behalf under its Firebase privacy terms. Data may be stored on Google servers outside your country, including in the United States.
- Apple handles Sign in with Apple and App Store purchases under its own privacy policy.
- People you share with. Anyone you give a whiteboard link to can see that whiteboard, its comments, and the names of its members.
We don't share data with anyone else, except when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Your account and content are kept for as long as you have an account. A whiteboard you delete goes to the Trash for 30 days, where you can restore it, and is then removed for good. When you delete your account, everything under it — whiteboards, images, comments, folders and the account record — is deleted.
Your rights
You can see and change your data in the app at any time, export any whiteboard, and delete whiteboards or your whole account from the app. Under the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD), the GDPR where it applies, and similar laws, you may also ask us to confirm what we hold, correct it, delete it, or hand it over in a portable form; write to hello@chalkdraw.io and we'll answer within the legal deadlines. You may also complain to your data protection authority — in Brazil, the ANPD.
Security
Data travels encrypted (TLS) and is stored on Google's infrastructure with access rules that let each account read and write only what is its own or shared with it. No method is perfect; if a breach ever affects your data we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
Children
chalkdraw is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the last revision, and material changes will be announced in the app.
